Who I Am

Hey, I’m Liam Treacy. I’m currently studying Computing in Interactive Digital Art and Design at SETU Carlow while also working with ESB using Unity and Blender. I’m 22, from Carlow and have a massive interest in anything creative. I’m heavily interested in animation, 2D and 3D art, storytelling and interactive projects. I always try to put a bit of myself into every project I work on and I like to think my work reflects the kind of person I am.

Outside of college, I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the gym, drawing, cooking and learning new things. I’m always open to trying something new. My long-term goal is to work within the Irish animation industry while continuing to improve my skills across animation, games and creative technology.

My Work

ESB

I currently work with ESB Networks as part of my college placement. My role involves creating assets using Blender and helping work on an in-house Unity project.

It was a challenge at the beginning as I had barely touched Unity or Blender before starting, but I’ve learned a huge amount during my time here.

SETU Carlow

I am currently studying Computing in Interactive Digital Art and Design at SETU Carlow.

The course combines animation, digital art, UI/UX, programming, game development and web design. Throughout the course I’ve worked on projects ranging from C++ games to apps in FlutterFlow. I was also a class rep during my 3rd year.

Dingle Animation Festival 2025 & 2026

Dingle Animation Festival

I attended Dingle Animation Festival in both 2025 and 2026 as part of my course at SETU Carlow.

The festival gave me opportunities to attend talks, networking events and meet people working throughout animation and creative media. One of the highlights for me was taking part in Pitch for a Pint, showing off my ideas and getting feedback from people working in the industry. I also had the chance to tour Brown Bag Films on April 24th 2025.

Kilkenny Animated

Kilkenny Animated

I also took part in Kilkenny Animated as a volunteer in October 2025. I got to see talks from industry and take part in activities like an animation quiz.

Experiences like Dingle and Kilkenny Animated have helped me learn more about the Irish animation industry while also giving me opportunities to meet new people and learn from others.
